The king of fighters 99 final krizalid
Capcom series in the past, that shouldn't be too much of an issue. The only potential drawback would be the difficulty of adjusting his godlike presence to that of a regular fighter rather than an overpowered boss character, but given we've seen literal gods joining the fray in the Marvel vs. The nonchalant way in which he wields his wind-based powers has never been replicated, and when you have a character who both fights in a unique way and has immense popularity to back him up, you're starting to run out of reasons to keep them out of your game.
THE KING OF FIGHTERS 99 FINAL KRIZALID FULL
With Yashiro, Shermie and Chris likely slated for a full on comeback given their intense popularity and their deaths now being wiped from history, it does seem like Goenitz would be following along right behind them.Ĭontrary to his predecessor Rugal, there's also nobody who fights quite like Goenitz does.
Goenitz makes all kinds of sense to come back if his former disciples as well as subjects of torment are set to do so as well.Įven though we saw Orochi eliminated just as fast as he was resurrected in one of King of Fighters 14's endings, that doesn't stop his zealots from having their own role to play in future titles. With the incredibly tough job of having to follow up on Rugal Bernstein, Goenitz still managed to become a highly iconic and beloved boss character in his own right without even breaking a sweat.ĭebuting in King of Fighters '96 and being intricately tied to the Orochi Saga he is naturally also connected to the New Faces team (who I've already advocated the return for here) as well as series mainstays Iori Yagami and Leona Heidern. GoenitzĪlthough I'm not the biggest fan of him personally, there's really no denying just how incredibly popular Goenitz is within the King of Fighters fandom worldwide. Rugal's iconic status has more than earned both him and his son a spot at the King of Fighters 15 table. Though to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't mind having them both even if their movesets are similar. If SNK decide not to go through with Rugal's resurrection, Adelheid is always a good plan B to fall back on. There's nothing that goes up to the real thing, but I think any SNK fan would be overjoyed to see Adelheid come back to the fray as well after his questionable absence from King of Fighters 12 and 13. On that subject, Rugal was in fact so popular that Adelheid was created so they could have an essence of Rugal still in the game - though not nearly as vicious as his father, Adelheid retained a lot of his moveset and obviously looked like a younger version of his father. Given that his two children, Adelheid and Rose Bernstein factored in majorly in the Ash Crimson story arc (the most recent one to be completed in the series), there's even more incentive to have him appear and show his interactions with his previously unknown children. Now that characters have been brought back from the dead, it's all the more reason to have Rugal factor back into the storyline and show his awesome power once more. With move names as vicious as Genocide Cutter, you know this guy didn't come to play and he set the bar exceptionally high for any final bosses to come after him, which is likely why he continues to be brought back whenever there's a non-canon opportunity where SNK can do so. The original big bad of King of Fighters, Rugal Bernstein set the tone back in King of Fighters '94 and even though he's been absent from the series outside of Dream Match iterations and crossovers ever since King of Fighters '95, his presence in the games is ever felt as the originator of the King of Fighters tournament and several characters connected to him continue to be integral parts of the storyline.
